Cubanite is a copper iron sulphide mineral that commonly occurs as a minor alteration mineral in magmatic sulphide deposits. It has the chemical formula CuFe2S3 and when found, it has a bronze to brass-yellow appearance. On the Mohs hardness scale, cubanite falls between 3.5 and 4 and has an orthorhombic crystal system. Cubanite is chemically similar to chalcopyrite, however it is the less common copper iron sulphide mineral due to crystallization requirements.
Siderite is a mineral composed of iron(II) carbonate. Siderite is both an iron ore and gangue mineral. Its principal economic value lies in its high iron content and the absence of process contaminants such as sulphur or phosphorous. It is part of a large group of isomorphous minerals, the calcite group carbonates, which share similar physical properties, and rhombohedral crystal form. Siderite is a crystal that encourages positive thoughts and creative ideas. It helps you to remain calm and strong during times when you need to make tough decisions. It inspires you to approach your work or career with commitment and determination.
Pyrrhotite is an ore of iron. Well crystallized Pyrrhotite specimens are important collector's minerals. The aesthetic prismatic crystal forms are especially treasured by collectors and in high demand. Several localities worldwide have produced outstanding examples of Pyrrhotite in attractive crystals and aggregates.
